Full disclosure: This endeavor snowballed into something we didn't expect - uh hello, I don't think we know like 95% of our readers. This makes me feel like I have a lot more friends. More friends means I feel better about myself.
Buckled down and finally had a meeting with all six of us in attendance.
Full disclosure: We went to a restaurant that had a "crazy happy hour." We accomplished quite a bit, threw ideas around and have some exciting news for you guys on the horizon! Everyone should totally be excited. Really.
Hosted our third installment of Disco in the Dark this past weekend in the back room of The Black Cat.
Full disclosure: I wasn't there but heard it was a blast. You should probably attend our next one on Saturday, September 8. Especially if you want to see the disco ball Tyler purchased in all its 20-inches of glory. Not going to be in DC...ever? We'll forgive you.. but please see picture below to get the full-effect ;)
So there you have it. We're only halfway through August and we have even more exciting things to share with you this month! But for now, let's get the dance parties going because that's why you're here.
Full disclosure: I'm jet-lagged, tired, and kind of want to crawl under my desk so I'm shoving this dance party in your face. This mix pairs well with a Venti Iced Americano from Starbucks as you sit and long for an afternoon pick-me-up. This means, naturally, I'm bringing back the Mid-Day Disco Dance Parties.
If you are a regular reader and follower of DPC, you know that we are huge fans of Business Casual Disco. We've featured them on the blog before, watched them do their thing in DC at The Black Cat, and even took a nice stroll to the Lincoln Memorial with them. Basically, what I'm trying to say... is that we are totally best friends.
This past week, Business Casual Disco dropped their fourth mix, "First Class Essentials", and I cannot tell you enough how appropriate the title is. You know how they tell you not to judge a book by its cover? Because it’s rude or something? Well, I think it's safe to say that you can and should judge this "book" by its cover.
Awesome mix title? Yes.
Airplane shot with suspiciously-looking whiskey drink in hand? Yes.
Intriguing track list? Yes.
This mix is most definitely essential. Meaning that it is absolutely necessary in your life.
I could liken it to slap bracelets, the genius combination of peanut butter + chocolate, or Adidas Superstars again, but I think that this mix is essential (see what I did there?)... Like the power move you make at 3am by drinking a glass of water before going to bed to soften your impending hangover. Or deciding to press that snooze button one more time in the morning before work - even if it means that you're haphazardly throwing on the first thing that looks like it matches in your closet. Or ordering one two beers and a shot, (let's be real) before last call cause you know that it's... well, last call.
We’ve been a little busy at DPC “offices” -Ha!-. Busy with the usual unrelenting search to find and share the music we love. Busy locking down exclusive content -*cough*Incoming on Monday*cough*.
This weekend, half of the DPC crew will be out in Detroit for Movement Electronic Music Festival (a.ka. DEMF) doing what we do best: dancing, partying, and chronicling. So, look forward to some great post-festival coverage when the gang returns. Meanwhile, look out for your DPC resident selector, Remote CTRL, to be making noise in the District all weekend (see: Events).
But you didn’t come for promises of dance parties. You came to get your Friday Fix, amirite? Today’s comes from the aptly named Disko! Selectors. It’s the 15th in their Serie Disko and comes by way of DJ called J.A.Z. The mix is a Disco and New Wave collision. It’s like a Donna Summers, Giorgio Moroder, and New Order love child, in DJ mix form. Most of the tracklist is beyond me, but I can say with certainty that there are gold and rarities throughout. It will be revealed next week however. In the meantime, just jam out to the spacey, funky Disco grooves J.A.Z. has put together for us.
**If you’re at DEMF and see a tall guy wearing DPC shirt, be sure to High-Five him. And if you’re looking for a dance party in D.C., let us point you to the dance floor.**
It was basically love at first listen. At the 10 minute mark, a funky disco track "Nocturn" (A1 Mix), by Francesco Pacarella,"Majic-Kaboola" by GeeGee & Gym Band caused an immediate disco dance party (DDP) to ensue, then segued quite nicely into another funky number "Make Your Body Move", by Roy B, at 13 minutes. Holy freaking dance party; I can only imagine what was going on in San Francisco as the Beat Broker dropped it. The mix transitioned nicely into some spacey selections at 30 minutes. A wave of nostalgia hit me as Mikeburns' track, "Galaktattakk", geared up with a familiar track from Classy Dancer 1; complete with its violins and haunting, but beautiful, samples in the background. I cannot say enough about this track!
The segue into 40 minutes in. Lord, help me. "Burning Love" by Glossy is what dance parties are made of, I kid you not. I guarantee that I would have lost my shit if I were in San Francisco. I probably would've dropped my beer in the middle of the dance floor (again) and proceeded to yell something about Classy Dancer 1 to my friends the closest person next to me. The live mix ended with DJ Gregory's "Don't Know Malendro"; another gem from Classy Dancer 1.
I've listened to the mix three four (including the one my commute to work this morning) times since Saturday night, and I recommend you start your Monday off with this DDP. So who's with me? Petition to get the Beat Broker on an east coast tour, stat.
There's no embedded link to the mix, so click here for your Monday morning DDP.
A few months ago, I had the lofty idea to mess around with DJ controllers and teach myself how to DJ. I'm not sure why because I don't really know the first thing about it, not to mention that the mere thought of playing in front of people gives me serious anxiety. It's ideas like these though that get me searching for new tracks and artists. For example, this past January I stumbled across an awesome remix of Poolside's "Do you Believe" track.
Poolside Music - Do You Believe(Filrouge Remix 11) by Filrouge (Official)
I'm telling everyone right now that if I were to ever make a mix, I'd definitely use this track as my opener. It's the right tempo and provides the perfect landscape for a disco dance party. After doing some research, I realized the man behind the remix was Jesse Alonzo, a.k.a Filrouge, a LA-based DJ/Producer who has been in the scene for the last few years. I can only describe his style of mixing and producing as a fresh of breath Disco air.
His March 2012 mix is nothing short of awesome, and with one look at the track list you will understand why. After listening, I scoured the Interwebz for the artists I was unfamiliar with; Ponty Mython and In Fields to be specific.
I love that Filrouge included Perseus' tropical disco hit, "Cool Runnings", because I think it got a little lost in the hype of "Running Back to You" and "Seychelles". It segued nicely into Ponty Mython's track, "Cameleon Chameleon" (Ilija Rudman Music Interp Mix). I will not disclose how long I spent looking for this online before I realized it hasn't been released yet. Womp womp.
I found myself lost in a deep and trance-y, disco heaven at 14 minutes in and never returned. The transition at 19 minutes into "This Time Around" by Softwar was flawless. Another track that stood out to me in was In Field's "Beginnings". It picks up the mix at the 34:30 mark and brings a nice funky vibe. I can't get over how good this track was; and consequently spent my night looking up anything and everything about In Fields!
I challenge you to not to become obsessed with Filrouge mix and every track inside. Start your Monday off with a disco dance party and thank me later!

Yesterday Mixmag released a new mix from Sare Havlicek that we had to share with you. Sare Havlicek is a DJ and producer from Slovenia. He describes his music as " Housified Discotastic Pop." Now does that sound like something you might be interested in? I first heard of Mr. Havlicek about 6 months ago when he released Disco Recreation Episode 1. I was blown away that he was able to make a two hour mix that was so incredible from front to back. After hearing Disco Recreation Episode 2, another 2-hour mix that is nothing short of amazing, I knew this guy was the real deal.
This mix once again displays his talent as a DJ as well as his talent as a producer. It features two tracks from Sare's recently released album, Escape Machine (Nang Records). You can preview Escape Machine here, purchase it on Beatport here or listen to it on Youtube here. It really is a great album and I highly recommend checking it out. Sare talks about the making of this album in the video below:
The mix kicks off with "Insinuation and Illusions" which is the second track on Escape Machine. The funky bassline outro segues flawlessly into Sare Halicek's dub version of "Getting Away With It" by Loudery. Sense Station, a gorgeous track also off of Escape Machine, may be my favorite track in this mix and on the entire album. I don't want to spoil the whole mix for you but another highlight is "Back to House" off of Dimitri from Paris and DJ Rocca's EP that was released last week. It was the third EP release by Gomma and is called Erodiscotique EP3. Its definately worth checking out if you haven't heard it already. Avanti's track "Show Your Moves" ends the mix with a bang that will leave you wanting more.
Tracklist: 1 - Sare Havlicek - Insinuations & Allusions 2 - Loudery - Getting Away With it (Sare Havlicek Dub) 3 - Chordasian - The Jam (Slow Hands Remix) 4 - Sare Havlicek - Sense Station 5 - Hiem and Phil Oakey - 2AM (Fernando & Toomy Disco Remix) 6 - Dimitri From Paris and DJ Rocca - Back To House 7 - No More Klein & Mbo - Last Call (European Connection Instrumental) 8 - Rodion & Khan - Discoteca Romana 9 - Tony Bates - You And I (Extended Mix) 10 - Proper Heat - Just A Little Bit (Club Remix) 11 - Avanti - Show Your Moves
Good morning DPCers! I hope everyone had a great weekend. We certainly did! Our weekend was filled with some Epcot Dance Parties (and whiskey of course). We saw Volta Bureau and Rory Phillips on Friday night at U-Hall, and on Saturday Remote Ctrl and Mr. Bonkerz threw down some DDBs (Disco Dance Beats) at Becca's Birthday celebration.
Now its time to get back to work (for those of us who don't have MLK Day off). Luckily we have our first Guest Mix of 2012 from local DC DJ Trev-ski to help you make it through your Monday. I met Trevor at U Street Music Hall before Metro Area and really like the music he spins. Check out his Soundcloud page for exclusive edits, mixes, and live sets. The guest mix he put together is full of Nu-Disco and few old-school disco tracks. I think you're really going to enjoy. Big thanks to Trev for taking the time to make a mix for us and answer a few questions. Make sure you watch the YouTube video at the end, its good for a laugh.
DPC: How did you get into DJing?
Trev: I got into DJing through my best friend Tim, who works over at Joe's Record Paradise in Silver Spring. He introduced me to collecting records 15 years ago or so. That in turn, turned into me wanting to DJ. When I first started to collect records I was into Rock, Jazz, and Hip Hop. Eventually I started to get into more styles of music as my appreciation for music developed more. Its an addiction. I still buy records all the time and will never stop.
DPC: Can you tell us a little about Capitol City Disco? Will this be a monthy party?
Trev: Yes. Capitol City Disco is a monthly party at Mig Bar in Adams Morgan (DC) I was invited to do with Ed Metaphysical. Ed is a great Producer/DJ / DJ/Producer (haha i dont know what he would put first) that became friends with me through soundcloud. We talked about doing a party in D.C. and he got a night for us at Mig. Its on the second Friday of every month and its Free. So if you wanna see some dope DJ's playing great music. Come join us then!
DPC: What is your favorite kind of music to play to people?
Trev: Super hard question to answer. I like to play Disco, Funk, Deep House, Nu-Disco and Edits I make. My favorite of all at the moment would be Deep House. I just really love mixing it and trying different things with it live. There is so much good music coming out right now in the genre too!
DPC: What are some of your favorite artists and tracks right now?
Trev: Some of my favorite artist at the moment are Kerri Chandler, Matthew Kyle, Joseph Terruel, Alphabet City, Leftside Wobble, Social Disco Club, Katzuma, LeSale, Dave Allison , Andy Ash, Nicholas, Nick Anthony Simoncino, Todd Terje, Soho 88, Munga, and Jacques Renault.
Some of my favorite tracks at the moment are. Munga - Make it Last , Nicholas - Many Shades of Blue , Alphabet City & Alkalino - Dolve la Disco, LeSale - Tempted , Tristan Dee - Doped Out.
DPC: DPC is all about dancing. Whats your favorite dance move?
Happy Friday everyone! Its hard to believe that its already December and the year is almost over. The temperature has finally started dropping and winter is fast approaching. You can probably guess what my favorite two things to help keep me warm during the winter are. That's right, hot whiskey cider and dance parties. I will certainly be indulging in both this weekend when I head to a friends cabin in West Virgina. If you're going to be in the D.C. area Saturday, you should make it a priority to catch Wolf + Lamb and Soul Clap at U-Street music hall. It's gunna be a rager.
Tronik Youth realeased their December Mix today and it is a heater. Its the perfect way to get you through your Friday afternoon or to kick off a Friday night DDP. This Nu-Disco mix is about 86 minutes long and includes some great tracks. I really enjoyed the Moon Runner Edit of "Back to the Funk" and am curious to know who the original artist is. This mix also includes a song that I have become obsessed with over the past week: Goldroom's remix of Nikki & The Dove- Mother Protect. Check it out, it starts at around 32:30. I really enjoy mixes like this that consist of about 50% tracks that I know and 50% tracks that are new to me. It gives it a nice balance. Anyway, have a great weekend everyone, and don't forget to keep dancing!

So last night I had another fail in the kitchen (sort of). You see, it's someone's birthday today (hint: 1/3 of DPC, and his name rhymes with fraud) and it's also Thanksgiving week. This means I'm canoodling with my beloved Kitchen Aid stand mixer more so than usual - swooooon. Which in turn means I do things like want to smush cookies with marshmallows and hope for the best.
Let's just be thankful that I decided to experiment with half of the cookies. And while we're on the topic of thankful, I'm thankful Holy Ghost! and Eli Escobar will be in town tomorrow night at the 9:30 Club (!!!). Let's hope there aren't tons of hipsters there that I can compare to inanimate objects.
And let's just hope I'm not too hungover on Thursday morning to bake a salted caramel cheesecake for my family. Because that has THANKSGIVING written all. over. it. But you know what doesn't have Thanksgiving written all over it? Ribs.
Uh, yea. Due to some changes in family plans, Zena (hi, mom!) will be in town for Thanksgiving. After getting calls from both her and my oldest brother, I learned that we were having ribs for Thanksgiving and forgoing the "traditional turkey". Fine by me! Turkey is just a bigger chicken that makes me sleepy. Don't even get me started on a turducken my family got a few years ago. Holy. Crap. I feel bad for whoever stuffed each bird into the bird. Awkward.
Anyway. So there's that. And now... there's this:
Flight Facilities' Paris Social Club 70s DJ Set from a show about a year ago. If there's one mix that I will play for my not-so-much-disco-loving-friends, it's this one. So many great tracks on here that everyone recognizes and loves, and edited by Flight Facilities. Holy beautiful. Maybe you're familiar with this set? If you are, let me reintroduce you; because the second, third, fourth, errr... 20th time you listen to this, you fall in love... ALL.OVER.AGAIN.
SERIOUSLY!
Look! There's also a nice download link to the individual edits, here. Mmm, edits.

Mondays do not always have to be that dreaded first day of the week where you find yourself slung shot back into the “real world” after a weekend of rowdy dance partying. Sometimes your DPC friends can do you a solid and serve up some hot new mixes. And sometimes our friends hit us with something exclusive just for you all. It just so happens to be one of those days.
This fourth installment of the Dance Party Chronicles GuestMix Series comes by way of Cole “Coltrane” Swatek-Carbone out of Norwalk, Connecticut. Coltrane has a way of creating a airy but body moving atmospheres with his blend of NuDisco, Space Disco, and House (as you’ll soon hear for yourself). Our new friend has been turning dance floors into zero gravity dance parties around the Northeast. If you find yourself in the area and in need of some self described “Music for You Body”, you can probably find him playing with the likes of Future rock,New York City Hustler Ensemble, or The Malah.
Until then, let's check out what Mr. Coltrane has put together fo us over at DPC. I don’t want to spoil all the workings of this mix too much for you all. But to give you an idea of what’s in store, I’ll say you had better put on your moonboots, because though it opens light and fun, by the midpoint, Coltrane has blasted us deep into space. He’s got great command of the tracks with slick mixing and deft use of filters. Expect to take a journey to the cosmos and back with this one; and most importantly expect to want to dance during the entire ride!
If want to catch man at work for yourself, he’s got gigs coming up at Stella Blues (New Haven, CT) on November 24 and the Phish Afterparty at The Irish Times (NYC).
Check his FaceBook page to stay up to dateon upcoming shows and events. Hit up the SoundCloud and check more of his mixes and productions. And show some Twitter love with a follow.

**Thanks and much love from the DPC crew for doing this mix for us Coltrane!
And in case you missed our other guest mix installments: Guestmix01: Mr. Bonkerz
Guestmix 02: Speakerbot
Guestmix 03: Ichisan
Unfortunately, this is not actually the DPC crew. But I now have some ideas for next year!
Hope you all enjoyed your weekend and got the chance to check out our most our third and most recent DPC GuestMix! Our new friend Ichisan did us a solid and put together fantastic mix.
Leave the children to their trick or treating. The grown folks will have ourselves a Funky, Rowdy, Spooky, Spacey, Raucous Dance Party. Don't worry, I've got just the mix to provide the soundtrack (you just bring the whiskey). It comes by way of Nelue. The Spain based DJ/producer's "Halloween Disco Rough Party Mix" is no less all those adjectives and then some. The whole affair is a fun filled dance party courtesy of some really funky bass and spooky/spacey synth tracks. At 11 minutes, prep yourself for a 17 minute Disco JAM session (I'd love an ID on this one)! It is immediately followed up (around the 28th minute) by a dark and dirty funked out Disco track. The spooky vocal and synth on this one make it a perfect Halloween get down and boogie jammer. Get some soul (or lose it for eternity) at the half way point, with one of Curtis Mayfields social commentaries in which he condemns us all to Hell (Bummer, but a dance party for sure). The funkiness does not let up this mix for even a second, and gems come one after another till the end of the 2 hour Halloween Disco session. So pick your poison...a handle of whiskey and/or half your body weight in candy (either way you're going to fill like shit tomorrow), then throw on your ridiculous costume and celebrate through night. Enjoy!
Like Disco, do you?
Like those funky riffs, groovin' basslines, succuluent syths, soultry vocals and violins all driven by the heady kicks, claps, rimshots, shakes, and what-have-yous of percussion?
Yeah, me too.
You've come to the right place my dance-a-holic friend!
I've got a great mix for you to get your boogie on to. It comes by way of æ±äșŹ, æ„æŹ's (translation: Tokyo - 23 wards...according to Google Maps) Das Moth. The mix spans some diamond in the rough NuDisco/Disco/Disco-House gems; some old school, like the entrancing "Hypnodance" by Who's Who, and "Nu" like Space Ranger's "Love Don't Come Easy". Stellar stuff from the first kick to last synthy sweet chords of Sidwho?'s remix of his track "Moon". This mix is volume eight in his Tokio Disko series (for We Are Nocturnal) and marks the start of his Australian tour.
Tracklist:
1. Mark Seven - Uptown A. 2. The Popular People's Front - Work The (Fuzz) Box. 3. Daniel Wang - Wicked Sequence. 4. Geraldine Hunt - Can't Fake the Feeling. 5. Who's Who - Hypnodance. 6. Lovebirds - Behind You. 7. Space Ranger - Love Don't Come Easy. 8. Ashford & Simpson - It Seems To Hang On. 9. Crue-l Grand Orchestra - Mo'r [Idjut Boys Remix] 10. Gazebo - Masterpiece [Instrumental] 11. Chris Isaak - Wicked Game [Soul Clap Edit] 12. Das Moth - Moon [Sidwho? Remix]
Well SoundCloud has been blowing up with end of the month mixes since Aeroplane's In Flight Entertainment was released yesterday. Of the ones I've listened to so far (Magic Tape 16 is up next on my playlist), this one has been my favorite.
The Beat Broker released the fifth installment of his "Classy Dancer" mix series earlier today. This mix is great all the way through, with some awesome songs mixed in and really smooth transitions throughout. It would be more appropriately named "Dirty Dancer 5" because it would be tough to dance classy with some of the dirty disco beats thrown down in this mixtape. It was tough sitting still in my chair at work while listening to it. I got a couple of strange looks from co-workers that saw me rocking out. There are too many heavy hitting tracks to even single out a few that stood out.
This mix even came with dancing directions and an instructional video of how to "Pop and Lock." I would recommend muting the video and listening to the mix as you watch. It definately goes together better. I will most likely be busting this out this weekend:
"Start with the feet shoulder length apart, with your weight on the left foot. Take a step backwards with your right foot, then the left, and then the right again. Tap the left foot against the insole of the right while clapping your hands, and keep the weight on the right foot. Repeat this step starting on the left foot. Once you are comfortable with the footwork, you can add the arms. When not clapping, bend the arms at the elbow. Your hands will be in fists with the thumbs on the top. Swing the elbows out to the sides, making an up and down motion to flow with each step."
Tracklist: Bon Voyage - Sorciers Des Aeroports Lovelock - Champagne Name in Lights - Touch The Sky (Eddie Mars remix) Moullinex - Sunflare (Extended Dub) Lagutenko & MNL - Alps Palms (Sportloto Musketeer Dub Mix) The Swiss - Bubble Bath (Knightlife Remix) Psychemagik - Star Lazer Earl Flint - People (Rayko birthday edit) Kelton Prima - The Dark Side Of The Spoon (PH Groove remix) Columbus - Hubble (Ajello remix) Lazydisco - More Tigers (Mirror People remix) Poncho - Please Me (Rory Phillips Mix) Casual Encounters - Casual Boogie Easy Going - Go Away Little Girl (Instrumental) Mike Burns - No Strings Attached Neurotic Drum Band - U Got Me Dancin' (Piano Party Mix)
I have been obsessed with Drop Out Orchestra since I began listening to them about a year and a half ago - and it's getting a little ridiculous. With each edit and mix they release, my love for DOO and DDPs gets bigger (if that is even possible). They just have this way of stringing together songs that create one large DDP orgy. I'll take 15, please.
I was able to listen to this mix last night via a friend that linked me to a website that had a stream - Thank you!!
The October Session Mix was amazing last night, and today is even better because I can follow along with the tracklisting! Hello, Down on the Corner - Drop Out Edit... you make me so happy. And the TLC song - flashback to 6th Grade and my love for "No Scrubs". I've listened to one other mix with this track in it - and I am a huge fan.
And I know the "When You're Dancing" track has been in so.many.mixes people may want to puke at the sight of it, but let's be real people, it's that good and you know it. Plus, Drop Out Orchestra's segue from "Casual Boogie" into the remix at 26 minutes was seamless.
With all of that being said, I will leave you with this:
PETITION TO BRING DROP OUT ORCHESTRA TO THE US - Specifically, DC. (!!!)
01. Sten & Stanley - Down On The Corner (Drop Out Edit) 02. Late Nite Tuff Guy - Not In Love Anymore 03. Small Pyramids - I Want Blood (Goldroom Remix) + TLC / Drop Out Edit 04. This morning my roommate drove me to the metro (Thank You!!) It was pretty awesome, until I realized after I got on the metro and was riding for 10 minutes that I got on the wrong train. #fail #spacecadet #stupidshitido
Baking is slowly consuming my life. I made pumpkin donuts the other night. Donuts are a million times better than cupcakes. Give me baked confections with holes in them. Now.
Speaking of baking, my friends have pumpkin brownies. I told them I would barter these for said brownies. Looks like I will be having a dance party in the kitchen tonight. I'm not complaining.
It's a rainy, dreary day in DC. Rainy, dreary days in DC call for extra awesome DDPs. And now I'm obsessed with this track!
This particular DDP is from the Canadian blog, The Ambitious C, and part of their mixtape series. I love their mixtape series, and my favorite Drop Out Orchestra mix happens to be from this site - and I've mentioned it before! Mirror People (Rui Maia) is a DJ/Producer from Portugal, and was kind of enough to share his mix via Soundcloud. He has said he has been influenced by such labels as DFA and Italians Do it Better!, and thus Mirror People was born and his mixes and tracks show his love for disco-house oriented music. (source)
The mixtape includes many familiar tracks, and I approve of all them. While they are familiar, I don't think these are 'played out' yet, and haven't been on too many mixes that are circulating currently. I love Rocco Raimundo's re-interpretation of "Foreign Language". That song will never, ever get old to me. LOVE 27'ish minutes in, too. DDP (!!!)

The C90s released their October chart mix last night and its a really good one. I'm a big fan of the second song "Dystopia" by Yacht and really dig the Emporer Machine remix. The next track, "Red Light", comes off of Gigamesh's self titled debut EP that will be released the 11th of this month. At this point, the mix slows down into some very diggable slower grooves. About midway through the mix, when Jan Diver's "Commercial" drops, the mix goes into full on DDP mode. The last track of the mix, "Parfait Tirage" is by the up and coming french DJ duo, Paradis and it is quite enjoyable. This 80 minute mix is great from front to back and a superb way to start off your Thursday. Enjoy!

Summer has come and gone (Too quickly for my liking). But that doesn't mean the dance parties have to stop! Bringing in the month, Mighty Mouse has for us a get-down-and-dirty Disco mix. I love the overall tone of this one. It's not summer anymore, so let's get a little dark and away from the chilled out/feel good stuff, right?
I really liked Erkka's take on "I Don't Know What To Do". An otherwise summer anthem, turned synthed-out NuDisco dance party track. There's some good Italo sprinkled about, like Patrick Cowley's Megatron Man. There's a Black Strobe remix of Mustang's "Shooting for Love" that is full of deep, dark, dirty Disco/House goodness. But what I really loved, was the Villa remix of Beni's "Someone Just Like You" and Ace Attack's "In The Dark". A LOT of great tracks, and all mixed very well. This set gets the month started right! It captures Fall vibe yet keeps the dance party going. Enjoy!

Listen to this. Now. Don't worry, you can thank me later. Housey-Disco Dance Parties for everyone on Monday. I like 19'ish minutes into the mix > 21.40'ish in the best! Or maybe 24 minutes in, super funky-boogie time. So yea, 'let's go to work' and listen to this mix together, please.
Tonight I had a revelation about where I want my next vacation to be. Indonesia, Bali to be exact. At The Cocoon Beach Club.
It's a venue that was created in July 2010 and has hosted numerous DJ acts including: Louis Vega, Crazy P, and Stacey Pullen. The club also has a handful of resident DJs who play poolside dance parties for their guests while they are on vacation (source). Uhhh, sign me up, please!
Cocoon Music even put together an album that is chock-full of sexy, house disco beats. It includes the song featured below. And holy sexy slow-mo disco. (Side note: it also has the Crazy P, "There's a Better Place!" song, but I'll spare you guys from listening to it... again.)
It goes without saying that this Asian girl would love a poolside disco set while lounging at the Cocoon Beach Club. Okay, I take the lounging part back - because let's be honest, I'd be on top of those nice, expensive lounge beds having a dance party. With a champagne bottle in one hand - and maybe a bottle of whiskey in the other. Because I'm a classy lady. Duh.
So...Who wants to petition for a Dance Party Chronicle disco dance party to get started over in Indonesia?
Not convinced?
Maybe this mix by one of their Resident DJs, Wisdy (Indonesia) will convince you.
