A few months ago, I stumbled across a remix of James Blake's, "Wilhelm Scream" by Portland, Oregon musician, Andrew "POINDEXTER" Rodriguez. I am pretty sure that "obsessed" is a slight understatement, because five months later, I'm still listening to it at least once a week. It's my four minutes of serenity, and after hearing the synth drop with the lyrics,“I don’t know about my dreams,” I can't help but smile.
One listen and you'll realize why so many, including myself, compare him to Breakbot.
Variety is most definitely the spice of life, ya dig? And by that I mean you should change it up. Don't get bored. If there's one thing I hate: it's being bored.
Go on adventures. Meet new friends. Start a blog (but not one about dance parties - that's our job?). Get new hobbies. Wander.
You see, when I go to shows/dance parties/whatever, it's just a known fact that I won't stay put. It's like an unwritten rule or something. I have a gift, and sometimes my friends really hate me for it. Especially if I meet weirdos (full disclosure: I believe this has only happened once. Sorry I almost had you drive home some rando friend, Rashad).
Meeting new people is fun. Meeting new people who love music like you is fun. And when you meet someone who spins music that you love it's obviously awesome/fate. Duh.
For our 9th (holy crap) installment of our Guest mix series, we have Sneakers in the Dryer (Eric Henderson), a Virginia Tech alum (!!!).
Hailing from Baltimore, Maryland, Sneakers in the Dryer has been keeping dance parties real; playing at venues and festivals throughout Maryland and Virgina. In fact, his DC debut is this Friday, February 10th when he hits the decks with Mr. Bonkerz' at Shenaniganz. If you're in the DC area, I highly recommend this party.
I've said this before, but I love our guest mix series. It's hands down my favorite aspect of le blog - we haven't had a mix that's disappointed, and all of them showcase DJs/Producers that we love and fully give the "DPC Stamp of Approval". It's our-so-called spice of life, and we are extremely excited to share this mix with you today.
One look at the track list and you would be crazy not to listen. You shouldn't judge a mix by its track list (or should you?), but I was pleased to see tons of DFA as well as house tracks sprinkled throughout the 70 minute dance party. At the 13 minute mark, Metro Area's "Dance Reaction" drops, and you can't help but start nodding your head. More notable tracks include "Your Everything" by Danny Daze and Julio Bashmore's "Battle for Middle You". And yes, I will get down, thank you very much. I love Cosmic Kids' remixes, and love that SITD included "Reginald's Groove" (YES!!!!!!!). The mix rounds out with a Greg Wilson (swoon) edit of "Full Tilt Boogie" and I was actually left wanting more funky dance parties. The best and WORST kind of feeling ever.
Like what you hear? Stalk check out Sneakers in the Dryer on Facebook. Follow him on SoundCloud. And don't forget to check out his DC Debut at Shenaniganz this Friday, February 10th.

And in case you missed our other guest mix installments:
Well after a little bit of a hiatus, we are back for your dancing pleasure. I hope you all had a great holiday season and are ready to own 2012 as much as Becca is. I have a feeling that it is going to be a great year. There are certainly a lot of DDPs on the horizon if you live in the DC area. First up is Orchard Lounge at U-Hall tonight with friend-of-the-blog, Mr. Bonkerz starting things off. It will surely be a great excuse to do some pelvic thrusts this Hump Day. Check out this great mix that Spencer and Bethany recently put up on their Soundcloud page to get you pumped.
Following an unseasonably warm period that lasted into January, it finally snowed here on Monday. Unfortunately it appears winter has arrived. I was hoping we could just skip winter and proceed right to spring (although I do like skiing and throwing snowballs at unsuspecting pedestrians). Anyway, the C90s released their monthly chart mix yesterday and it will keep you warm by keeping your blood pumping and your body jumping. It features some excellent new material and a couple of old favorites.
Epcot Ball or Giant Disco Ball Space Ship?
The mix kicks off with an excellent new track from Todd Terje's upcoming EP titled "Its the Arps." The song is called "Inspector Norse" and the EP will be out January 16. After a couple remixed tracks that focus on vocal melodies, the Jacques Renault Edit of Machines' "OTP Party Breaks #6" brings the energy level back up before the mix segues into The Swiss's "Double or Nothing." I have heard this track countless times but it never gets old. I feel like the best way to enjoy this track would be bumping it in a giant disco ball space ship that is hurtling through outer space, but hey, that's just me (and some people think I'm weird). Although I don't have time to comment on every track, I really enjoyed "The Ocean, The Sand, The Lorenzo" by Telephones. It starts coming in a little after 50 minutes in and features an incredible synthed out groove. Anyway, enjoy the mix and we hope to see some of you at U-Hall tonight!

The Holidays! High five - You know, just another excuse to get drunk in the office. Bake tons of cookies. Online shop. Spend time with family.
But then you realize that amidst all that fun stuff...
You're stressed because you're about to leave your beloved cube for an entire week (God, does that sound depressing that I'm saying that?!). You ate your weight in cookie butter and cookies this past weekend. Your memory is getting so sharp that you indeed, memorized your CC number while online shopping for friends and family. And your family? They are freaking awesome, but you're about to spend an entire week with them. That's a lot of time with your parents and two brothers. Youtotallyknowwhatimtalkingaboutandifyoudontimaterribleperson?
So while you're busy tying up odds and ends, remember to make time for yourself. You know...To like, relax. Disco dance party in your room. Or at work. OR! In your car! Remember to enjoy the mixes that friends share with you.
Yes. That's right, mixes friends share with you because we are all overdue for some NuDisco from Mr. Bonkerz, and luckily the wait is over as Volume 6 hit the Internets for DDPing people like you and me.
It's awesome. And I mean awesome in the way where I've already listened to it once in my room last night whilst in a sugar coma, once on the way to work, and once at work as I was kicking my to-do list in the ass. From start to finish it is what dance parties are made of, and nothing short of what you would expect if you are ever going to see Bonkerz live.
Sans the cookies, unless you're like me and realize that there are baked goods everywhere. you. turn. in. your. house.
At the 9:30 minute mark is when the mix starts to pick up with the funky track by Disco Tech, "Full Tilt" at the 10 minute mark, which segues into Drop Out Orchestra Dub track, "Reality TV". Something about that bassline that is ever so familiar in their tracks with the vocals. Holy freaking obsessed. And I had not heard the Munga 5AM remix of "Elisco" that clocked in at 24'ish minutes - but wow. Super funky. Super awesome. Super obsessed.
Throughout this mix I kept thinking about how I loved the transitions and it's always noticeable in Matt's mixes; the segues just "happen" and you know the track changed, but not enough that it detracts from the song. #winning
Listen now! Grab some cookies and pretend like you're actually at a show. OR, you could also just stalk Mr. Bonkerz on Facebook - he has some gigs in 2012 coming up, and you don't want to miss them! I think all of the above are good suggestions - so do it.
Bufi & La Royale - Fascination 6th Borough Project - Stratus Quo Disco Tech - Full Tilt The Opiates - Reality TV (Drop Out Orchestra Dub) La Royale - Voyage To The Stars 1990 JKriv/Lou Teti - Elisco (Munga 5am Mix) The Shack - One & Only (Faze Action Dub) Red Axes/Zidanstyle - Won't You Try Yacht - I Walked Alone (Jacques Renault Remix) Bee Gee's - Stayin' Alive (Oskar Remix) Mirror People - Feel The Need ( Social Disco Club Dub) Bufi - Like A Child
If there is one post you should definitely read. It is most definitely this one.
Please, have a cup of coffee. Sit down. Stay awhile? Learn things.***
It's time to learn fun stuff; like where to find the DDPs, how do we find the DDPs, and how do we keep track of all the DDPs. This has been a long time coming because it's one of the reasons why DPC was started. We wanted to archive the music we'd been emailing around for the last year (seriously, over a year - thousands of mixes probably. it hurts my head thinking about how many I still want to post), and for the last 4 months, we've done a good job at sifting through what we enjoy, and posting it. New stuff. Old stuff. Hipster stuff. DJ stuff. Disco stuff. Deep stuff. House stuff. Baking stuff.
Lately, I've found myself "Following" more people on SoundCloud, and digging through tracks and mixes to find "the good stuff". If there's one thing that you need to do that you haven't done already:
Get yourself a SoundCloud account.
Upon checking it, you'll notice an "Incoming" on your Dashboard with all of the people you follow. New mixes, tracks, and EPs can be found here.
Do it. Get a SoundCloud account now - it's free! Stalk your faves, thank me later.
You can also "comment" at sections of mixes and get track ID's - subsequently leading you to other artists and potential mixes (!!!) Some people get annoyed by commenting, or think it's "dumb" and you should figure it out yourself. Trust me, save yourself some time and just ask around - usually someone will answer in the comments and it really isn't that painstakingly awful for others - they're just assholes. There. I said it (//rant).
Moving along to some blogs and websites (!!!).
There are a few that I have been following for quite some time, and really enjoy. And there are some that I think suck. I'll leave out the latter and let you figure that out as I list some that I believe are a great source of information and music. With thousands upon thousands of blogs out there - I have a handful that I reference on the reg because. There's never enough time to catch up on all the good music, but if you go to a few good sites, you'll find what you're looking for. (Feel free to click the links now as they will open up a new tab).
There is also this wonderful thing called, "Google".
If I am in the mood to listen to a particular band, artist, DJ, whatever - I usually just Google them, and then "mix". You'll be surprised at what you find. Sometimes it's forums or boards that aren't in English but have awesome links, and other times you're not as lucky. And (do this at your discretion), but usually you can also find albums or recordings this way as well - instead, put in Mediafire, .zip, .rar, .mp3 with the artist and you'll find some fun things as well.
Finally - reference your friends, acquaintances, and/or enemies.
People know more than they lead on... and personally, I LOVE sharing what (I think) I know with people, and exposing friends and/or readers to things not so familiar. With the blog, those are my favorite posts; delving into something more than what I had originally thought. Like album reviews, or spotlights on artists. It makes me feel smart, and that's something I like (duh). My friends and I have music threads where we share all kinds of music and fun things, and I highly recommend you do the same thing.
Hopefully you learned something... maybe you found a new website or blog to stalk, or now have a nice SoundCloud account. Please use this knowledge to find some music - then give it to me. K. Thanks!
Your turn - Favorite website to go to for music? We love suggestions, so throw them at us! And because I can't leave you without music, here's a mix I found via SoundCloud on Friday. I love how it was recorded in 2009, but still relevant almost 3 years later. Plus, he made it for his wife. #swoonworthy #iwantsomeonetomakeamixforme
*Edited to add: Sparkless recently took the mix off Soundcloud, but you can stream from the link above. I promise it's a great one :D
***Side note: if you're trying to figure out what the picture above is it contains a disco ball, musical notes, and a man with a top-hat - looking hard, because he's boss. Duh.
I love the beginning of new months. New months mean more mixes, more mixes mean more dance parties and more dance parties = happy Becca and DPC. I think what makes me most happy are the guestmixes. Call it selfish (uh, because it is) but I freaking love it when we have something exclusive for readers and listeners. It means it's only found on DPC and that means it's boss. Duh.
And because it's the start of a new month (hey, December!) and we want to get in that "holiday spirit", we have our 6th installment of our guestmix series. Because presents are awesome. And presents for your ears are even more awesome! Fortunately for everyone, this DJ furnished his own album art, so you don't have to stare at some type of "artistic drawing" that I made in paint. It's probably the most Internet Famous thing I'll ever do (Thank God), and strangers will forever think a Kindergartner was commissioned to draw it.
Sir Charles, (Charlie Buckley) a Richmond Native has been spinning forms of EDM for the last few years. Colorado has had its fill of Space Disco/Tech/Electro as Sir Charles can be found spinning at Mynt Lounge and Xbar in Denver. Most recently, Sir Charles was at a festival in Georgetown, Colorado. Unfortunately I have never caught him live because he ran off to the West Coast without saying goodbye - while people in DC/VA were waiting to see a show. This is on my to-do list next time I'm in Colorado or Sir Charles is in town (*hint hint*)
I can't really wrap my head around putting together a mix, so people who go ahead and make their own tracks, edits or remixes blow my mind. I'm not sure if it's jealousy (probably) or that people are just so freaking talented (this), but I love hearing people's interpretations to tracks. Sir Charles does his own remixing and edits of tracks, and I'm particularly fond of his remix of Chromeo's "Tendoroni".
It's a faster-paced, funked out version of the original:
This mix, entitled "Las Hermanas" is full of energy and at the 10 minute mark, the mix starts to pick up pace with Aeroplane's "Save me Now" from his latest album, "In Flight Entertainment." Tyler and I actually listened to the mix on the way up to West Virginia this past weekend, and it was great for the car ride. I love Diskjokke, and was ecstatic when I saw the tracklist included him, and then freaked out as "Save me Now" segued into "Flott Flyt" at the 14 minute mark. So spacey and wonderful.
Another highlight of the mix is when Gigamesh's remix of "Pumped up Kicks" at 33 minutes. Our entire car started dance partying (and exclaiming how great of a track it was); the track was definitely played a few times at the cabin we were staying at for good measure. It's such a great track to play for novice disco lovers because it takes a well-known favorite and makes it super dancey. #winning
I'd never heard the Aeroplane remix of Grace Jones' "Williams Blood" and this is another huge reason why I am such a lover of mixes. There's always something to be exposed to, or find. Dance party education, ftw!

Happy Friday everyone! Its hard to believe that its already December and the year is almost over. The temperature has finally started dropping and winter is fast approaching. You can probably guess what my favorite two things to help keep me warm during the winter are. That's right, hot whiskey cider and dance parties. I will certainly be indulging in both this weekend when I head to a friends cabin in West Virgina. If you're going to be in the D.C. area Saturday, you should make it a priority to catch Wolf + Lamb and Soul Clap at U-Street music hall. It's gunna be a rager.
Tronik Youth realeased their December Mix today and it is a heater. Its the perfect way to get you through your Friday afternoon or to kick off a Friday night DDP. This Nu-Disco mix is about 86 minutes long and includes some great tracks. I really enjoyed the Moon Runner Edit of "Back to the Funk" and am curious to know who the original artist is. This mix also includes a song that I have become obsessed with over the past week: Goldroom's remix of Nikki & The Dove- Mother Protect. Check it out, it starts at around 32:30. I really enjoy mixes like this that consist of about 50% tracks that I know and 50% tracks that are new to me. It gives it a nice balance. Anyway, have a great weekend everyone, and don't forget to keep dancing!

Sorry to leave you all hanging yesterday. I think DPC gang has finally recovered (with minimal regrets) from the shenanigans that ensued the past Wednesday. It was a rowdy dance filled night to say the least. We got down and dirty with friends old and new (Shoutout Matt L!...I know I promised a post for yesterday, and failed to deliver..My bad). Our good buddy Mr. Bonkerz warmed things up (<--Understatement Alert) to start the night off proper. Plastic Plates kicked things up a notch with some rowdy Disco/House, and finally the man, the myth, the legend: "El Magico" (as we like to call him), The Magician did his damn thing and did it well. He's got a new tuxedo for this tour, classic black with white trim and of course a matching magic wand. I was partial to the white on white with black trim, but Stephen was looking sharp nonetheless. Alright, enough of the blabbery let's get into some music.
Well hello there November. I love this month, good things always happen for me, plus it's my birthday month! Just a few days in and there's already some really good mixes. I've noticed a lot of them are diving into Slo-mo, Beatdown, and the Deeper side Disco and House. No complaints, I love it. But it's Friday, I've got a bit of energy, and wanted to share something lively. Tronik Youth cometh...
Here's a treat of a mix for your Friday Dance Party pleasure. An hour and a half of straight NuDisco jammers. TY starts things off smooth and sexy with a Casual Enounters touch up of the aptly named "So Good, So Right", by Imagination. I could go through and list the hot tracks in this mix, but there's just so many. So I won't spoil the fun for you all. Though, I must say, keep your ears tuned in for Tronik's Youth's remix of C'est Bon, by the Supermen Lovers. Oh, and KDMS' "Tonight" (with Morgan Geist) gave me chills (the good kind!). The funky guitar riff, seductive vocals, catchy synth melody, and the fantastic hi hats are the hotness (this one is "On repeat" status!).
Before you have at it, I wanted remind (if you live in the DC area) we're giving away tickets to Metro Area's show at U Street Music. Details here.
Lastly, we love music. So, send us yours.. I swear, we listen to everything that comes our way and post the stuff that makes us want to dance. So shoot us an email, hit us on Facebook, or use the Souncloud drop box. Sharing is caring, right?
Alright, here's the mix. Happy Friday dance partiers!

This past weekend was awesome. I rekindled my relationship with dance parties AND Jager Bombs. I'm pretty sure that U Hall was the most crowded I have seen it, too! All three acts were just as awesome as I had predicted, and I managed to only have one awkward moment the entire night while keeping my bar tab under $50. That is totally a win in my book.
On Saturday morning, I awoke to a beautiful day in DC. It was so beautiful in fact that I wanted to vomit. Wait, no...that was just my hangover. So yea, I wasted ALMOST my entire Saturday until I emerged from my bed in time to realize that the Tech game was NOT going to be on television and promptly went to Trader Joe's to buy a chicken.
After the massive amounts of baking I did last week, I decided I needed to roast an entire chicken. How Martha Stewart of me, right? Well, I don't know if Martha ever shoved a beer can and some lemons up a chicken's butt, but hopefully she did cause the chicken came out sooo moist and delicious! And yea, it was just as awkward as it sounds. I may or may not have been muttering, "I'm sorry," to the chicken while I also managed to knock over said beer can on my first attempt. #stupidshitido
What I'm trying to say is that I did NOT go out Saturday night because I was busy with that chicken. Eating it. Picking it. Preparing it for soup. Dreamy, delicious soup that was consumed on Sunday - with Sriracha. Yum. So I have no crazy reviews for the Matthew Dear concert. BUT - I do have a great Alexander Robotnick (Maurizio Dami) nu-disco mix for you today.
I really, really enjoy this mix because it steps out of the norm for a bit. I love The Magician. I love Aeroplane. I love Flight Facilities and I loooooove Drop Out Orchestra. But, I also love variety and being exposed to new music and tracks. This fits the bill perfectly.
True Life: I can't wait to go home tonight and Google some of the tracks/artists I'm not familiar with so I can have NEW DDPs to share with everyone this week! See? We all win.
And Holy DDP at 26'ish minutes in! Seriouslyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy, people. Listen!
Welp, while Becca and Rashad are off in the hills of West Virginia avoiding Samsquanches (any TPB fans out there?) and having whiskey fueled dance parties in the forest, I'm stuck in the office working this weekend. I'm not too upset though because of a great compilation album release that occurred yesterday. I'm talking about the Shiny Disco Club's release of Millennium Disco Volume 2. This album has made my Saturday morning in my cubicle surprisingly enjoyable.
For those of you not familiar with the Shiny Disco Club, it is a record label/group of artists that consists of Cherokee, Kartell, Mix Chopin, Viceroy, Hana Yori Kichou Na, Darius, and Drame. All of them are definitely worth checking out when you have the time. This 24-track compilation album contains some great Nu-Disco and French House. Nearly all of the songs on the album are quality, but a few stood out to me. Vanguard's "LeJeune" starts off the album with a lot of energy and some great breaks. Track 6, Mjolnir's "Yea It's You" has a Caribbean Disco vibe that is very catchy. There is also some really good synth work in the middle of the song. The tenth track, Karl Rose's "Drama Queen" is a very upbeat song that I could cut some serious rug to. Track 16, "I Want You" by Combostar has a great groove going on that is quite dancey. The last few tracks slow down a bit for a nice, relaxing outro to the album.
If you enjoy this album, you should also check out Millenium Disco Volume 1. Both compilations are available to download for free on Shiny Disco Club's soundcloud page. Have a great weekend everybody! Shiny Disco Club - Millenium Disco Vol.2 (SDCR 007) by Shiny Disco Club Tracklist: 1. Vanguard – LeJeune 2. Louis La Roche – Fake Tan 3. Cherokee – Do It Again 4. I hope you all had a great weekend and danced till you dropped!
It's Monday, it's the A.M., and it's time to get your week started. What better way to do that, than with a fresh DJ mix (and large amounts of coffee)! Mustang does the honor for us with his September Mix. This one has got a some great NuDisco and Disco/House tracks. There's a good amount of new and quality stuff, along with a few remixes from Mustang. I've been in love with RAC's remix of the Gigamesh dance floor anthem, "When You're Dancing". The Brodinski remix of Nero's "Crush on You" was a nice surprise, not to mention a (exclusive?) remix of The Magician's "I Don't Know What To Do" by Erkka. It's straight forward and solid mix start to finish. Happy Monday! (wait...is there such a thing?)
Oh, and stay tuned we've got something special and exclusive to share shortly!
Do you like Nu/Disco? I can't get enough! It's Friday, so let's kick things off with some heat!
When I heard the opening track and saw the rest of the tracklist, I knew was in for long haul of this 2 hour mix. Sare Havlicek recently did a spot on Pure.FM called Disco Recreation: Episode 1, and he did it well. This set is full of NuDisco's recent dance floor hotness from the past from few months. Hit after hit are melded together with slick mixing. I love the cosmic tone of the set that takes when Proper Heat's "The Move" drops. Look out for Sare's "Can't Stop" and it's classic cosmic disco sound as well. There's not a minute wasted in this set...Enjoy!

A new mix from Zimmer was released yesterday for Brain Magazine. It's a nice one to kick off the day. It's full of a variety of recent Nu-Disco hits. Look over the tracklist and you'll see a bunch of your favorites from the summer. He's got it tagged as "Horizontal Disco"; not sure what that is exactly, but the mix an uplifting one. The pacing is great and builds nicely. The second half crosses into the House realm and finishes with an old school Disco gem. It is the act of baking sweet confections and having dance parties in your kitchen when you have other things you need to do. Like packing because you are traveling to Charlotte and New Orleans. Working out because you have a race in 3 weeks. Finding/buying black flats cause you can't wear tennis shoes to a conference. Taking your dress clothes to the dry cleaners so you don't look like a ragamuffin at your work conference.
So instead of doing any of the above mentioned tasks, I did the next logical thing and baked cookies. I know I talk a lot about cupcakes on this MUSIC blog, but can we please take a moment to admire these cookies in their freaking brown butter, coconut, dark chocolate cherry (I added those on a whim) goodness?! These are literally the best darn cookies I have ever made in my life, and I'd like to thank my stress levels, craving for sweets, this man, and this mix for aiding me in my endeavors. I must be honest though, I started this a little after the baking project started, but watch out for 22 minutes in, I LOVE that song by Larse himself.
So, thanks Larse, for the kitchen dance party. It was truly a rager, and I'm only sorry I don't know German - because apparently that's the language you need to know how to read what you to learn more about you.**
Tracklisting: 1. Life (Original Mix) - Outmode 2. Without U - Nicholas 3. Don't look any Further (SJ & Chris Jyllke Reconstruction) - M-People 4. Congolal - Tensnake 5. The More I Want - Larse 6. Night Flight - Satin Jackets 7. Age Of The Jaguar - Toomy Disco 8. In The City - Martin Dawson & Andre Crom 9. Costa Verde - Space Ranger 10. Point 0 (Chopstick & Johnjon Mix) - Trickski 11. Stranded - Iron Curtis 12. Makin' a Livin' - African Dream
**I actually tried looking up more information on Larse, and really couldn't find anything other than where he was from (Dortmund, Germany), so if anyone has any other information (!!!) let me know. I'm really curious.
Happy Labor Day! We aren't in cubicles or at desks today, but that doesn't mean we can't supply dance parties for your Monday afternoon. If you haven't given the Jamie Jones mix a listen, I highly recommend it (14'ish mins in, I LOVE!!!). I also highly recommend not judging me for waking up to a whiskey bottle sitting on my dresser.
I've always enjoyed Tronik Youth's monthly mixes, and now that August is over, a slew of new mixes are popping up. Neil Parnell, the DJ/Producer behind Tronik Youth hails from London and he just dropped his September Mix for our listening pleasure.
I'm a huge fan of Poolside's song "Harvest Moon" that gets going around the 4:45 minute mark because it takes me to my happy place that features a tropical paradise with a never-ending buffet of cupcakes and chocolate. She, Junkie Wife's song, "Ain't Coming Down" that follows "Harvest Moon" is one track I wasn't familiar, but I liked what I heard. A LOT. The latter half of the mix features some of the newer songs that have dropped at the end of the summer, including an exclusive mix of the new Legowelt mix of Tyson's song "After You're Gone" around the 1:03 mark.
The C90's have put together a chart mix to bring in September. The tracklist on this one alone "wow'd" me. It's full of current NuDisco hotness and mixed nicely. I hadn't heard the Cosmonauts "One Dance Floor" before, but definitely enjoyed it. To be honest, there's not a whole lot to say about this one (and I don't have any funny stroies to tell - a la Becca). Bottom line: it's a good one through and through. Enjoy
Bringing this month's string of incredibly hot mixes to a close (unless someone else decides to drop another one on us!), The Cosmonauts just released their monthly Top Ten mix. Per usual, it brings the summer heat. No tracklist available at moment, but they usually release it a few days after the mix is uploaded. They're quite good at collecting recent tracks that aren't in every other mix out, but are dance floor bangers nonetheless. There's a few I ID'd, but this one has me a bit stumped. So, I'm definitely antsy to see what they've put together to make this great mix. Expect a variety of NuDisco and Disco-House, with that lovely synthy touch and driving bass lines I currently can't get enough of. Enjoy!
It wouldn't be a proper Friday without some good ol' Disco! I wouldn't be doing my job if I didn't supply you some NuDisco to get the dance party started. It would be downright shameful of me to not...never mind, you get it. Well August is nearly gone and as far this summer goes, we've heard some of the hottest mixes so far this year. Mighty Mouse say, "to hell with August, I'm gonna get September started right!" (not an actual quote). The London based group, just dropped a straight-to-the-point Disco/NuDisco mix (with hints of house, which seems obligatory lately). This is apparently the first of new series of monthly mixes as well as the start of a new venture for the group:
"Here's the first in our new monthly mixtapes. If you didn't know we announced this week that we separated the band away from Mighty Mouse and it will be called Empress, this way Mighty Mouse can get back to being a disco loving psychedelic mouse from space. So couldn't help putting lot's of tasty old disco in this mix with some exclusives!" (Soundcloud)
I hope this gets your Friday mid-day juices flowing. It's doing the job for me....Enjoy!

Here's fresh chart mix from London's The C90's. The duo's monthly installments never disappoint. I took quick look at the tracklist and couldn't wait to dive dancing feet first into it. Hot off the disco presses, Oliver's "I Need You" and the Flight Facilities' "Foreign Language" hint at the quality of tracks throughout. From the go, we're treated with some funky synthy disco. This is my kind of mix (see: "I'm a sucker for synth")! A bit after the midway point, put your moon boots on because it gets a little spacey! Dense synth bass lines, lots of beeps and boops. Look out for the editing machine, Rayko's "Whip It". Clocking in at 1hr and 20min, this a super solid mix for sure. Slick transitions, playful FX use, and a great assortment of songs; whether you're looking just to jam out or find some new tracks, this one will leave you satiated (if not, you can always hit play it again!). Enjoy!

Hiiiiiiii – Guess what today is? FRIDAY! Which means it’s almost Saturday! Which means it’s almost tomorrow night, and I can’t wait for tomorrow night! Do you want to know why? Well. Even if you don’t, I’m going to tell you – deal with it.
Friends! Nu Disco! $4.00 Natty Boh cans!
Serious dance parties are on the horizon in Washington, D.C. We will be getting the party started at 10pm to see Mr. Bonkerz open up, so it only seems appropriate to start the work weekend with a little preview of some of our favorite DJs.
So, please. Grab your headphones, turn up your stereo, and maybe give your legs a stretch. Because really. Who does work on a Friday? (I am kidding. Seriously.)
So. Tell me (cause I love a little banter on the page) – What’s your favorite part of Friday?
I’ll go first. Casual Friday! We get to wear jeans in the office. God, I can’t believe that’s the most exciting part of my Friday, but when you stay in on Friday nights to re-organize your closet (no, really that has happened), or clean out the fridge (please still be my friend), you can understand why I love casual Friday.
