A Musical Retrospective of 2012 from DPC

It's hard to encapsulate 2012 musically into one blog post as this is finally coming to fruition as we said goodbye to 2012 a few days ago and welcome 2013 with open arms and legs stretched ready for new adventures. The six of us at DPC have put together an ode to 2012 highlighting some of our our favorite EP’s, experiences, concerts and mixes. While we've collectively seen, listened and scoured for more music this year than humanly possible, it was hard to pick favorites. But here's to a great year of music; many thanks to our readers, guest mix contributors, and friends for joining us on the ride! Let's boogie!

Ticket Giveaway - DPC Presents: Edit Murphy

A little less than a year ago, Edit Murphy, was on our radar after hearing his track, "Mercy," on The C90s mixtape. Aside from having one of the best monikers for a DJ in the dance party world, Edit Murphy has a way of sampling RnB in a way that heats up dance floors to get people moving with his deep, soulful grooves.

The Motown Edits Vol. I by Edit Murphy

It's no coincidence that a year after his first release, Edit Murphy is embarking on his "Brooklyn Nights" tour, starting in Miami and ending in San Francisco as his second EP, "Brooklyn Nights," off Smoke N' Mirrors hits the shelves on September 25. We were thrilled when we heard the news, and even more thrilled when we learned we would share the bill with the DJ/Producer himself in Baltimore, MD at the swanky night club, E-Villa (insert girly "OMG" scream here).

We'd love to see you at E-Villa this Friday, September 21. Music starts at 9pm, and Mr. Bonkerz, DJ Remote CTRL and William DeVon are warming up the decks and Edit Murphy goes on at 11:30pm for two hours of non-stop dance parties. If you're sitting there wondering what exactly the evening may have in store for you, please give his latest mix for Musicis4Lovers a listen. It's full of deep, sexy vibes with tracks from Nicholas, Urulu, Bicep & Odyssey.

So, what does that mean for our DC/MD/VA amigos? Well, it obviously means that we're no longer friends if we don't see you there...but it also means we are giving away a pair of tickets because we know everyone likes free crap love you.

Two ways to enter via our Facebook page (so make sure you've liked us!)
  • Share >>> the post pinned to the page OR
  • Retweet >>> the tweet referencing the ticket giveaway
We can't thank E-Villa enough for making this happen and we hope to see you in Baltimore this Friday!

Don't be left out off the dancefloor,
