DPC Does DEMF - Festival Preview

This weekend, DPC will be heading to Detroit to experience one of the best electronic music festivals on the planet.  I am talking about Movement Electronic Music Festival, also known as Detroit Electronic Music Festival.  It is sure to be a weekend of whiskey fueled debauchery and dance parties.  To say we're excited would be an understatement.  The lineup this year is absolutely incredible, featuring some of the most renowned DJs and producers in the world.  Although Detroit is hailed as the birthplace of techno music, the festival features an eclectic mix of Techno, House, Disco, and even some Hip Hop.

After The Jump...

DEMF has been held in Hart Plaza in Detroit during Memorial Day Weekend every year since its inception in 2000.  Although the name and management have been tweaked throughout the years, the festival still holds true to its electronic roots.  It was estimated that in the each of the first few years DEMF was held, over a million people attended over the three day span.  Attendance began decreasing in 2003,  and fell to under 100,000 in 2005.  Since 2008, the festival has begun to gain steam again with attendance nearing 100,000 last year. This year is looks like it will maintain that trend. Between the actual festival and the after parties, there is going to be an incredible amount of excellent music drawing people from all over the world.
We are going to dance until we drop.

Hart Plaza, Detroit, MI
The lineup features a bunch or artists that DPC has featured: Greg Wilson, Todd Terje, Seth Troxler, Tiger and Woods, Maya Jane Coles, Benoit and Sergio, Derrick Carter, Jaime Jones, and more.  The entire lineup can be found here: 2012 DEMF Lineup, and the schedule can be found here: 2012 DEMF Schedule.

DEMF is also known for its rowdy after parties that last into the wee hours of the morning. And with so many going on, you may have a tough time choosing which ones to attend. So, in order to help you decide, we recommended one for each night of the festival for you.
