New Year, New Resolutions

Yea. We all got them. I'm a little late to the party as it's January 9th, but the thing is, this year feels different already. I'm a well-established young adult, I really enjoy my job, and I feel like I finally understand important priorities and all that crap (I know just how to say things). Therefore I feel like I need to own 2012... uh, like totally make it my bitch. Not just talking about it, but BEING ABOUT IT. Sounds like a plan, right?

So. What does this mean for you guys? Maybe I won't have as many ridiculous stories because well-established young adults make responsible decisions. Maybe it means that there are exciting things in motion for DPC. New layout? Content re-vamping? Perhaps. Hopefully teaching myself more about HTML. Internet nerd things. Exciting things! Baking more. Sharing more baked goods. Finding a new favorite liquor? Whiskey, I love you, but dang, sometimes you make me do stupid things.

Mainly though, I'll be practicing a little more patience. DC is crazy. I feel like I'm always on the go. Perhaps it's my ADD - I can't seem to focus on one particular thing at work, at home... you get it. There's always something to do, somewhere to go, places to be. Having a little more patience will most definitely add to my sanity and also make me realize that I sometimes expect too much. Don't. Especially when there's hundreds of tourists blocking your walkway to your office. newsflash tourists: that building you're taking a picture in front of is a bank. Errr, whatever. I guess it's nice?

If you're practicing patience, you totally need a mix that will slow you down. Relax you! Calm you down. A nice slow burner to remind you to enjoy the simple things in life, and not physically want to harm tourists, or the idiot who doesn't wipe down the gym equipment after sweating all over it. But, that's neither here nor there. But this mix is totally spot on.

Yes, Love. a mix by Ex Ex Ex - formally, Space Agent, is a slow mo winter tape that was released this past Friday and is nothing short of easy listening that allows you to appreciate the music in its entirety. It's not a disco dance party by any means, but that's not its purpose, and after popping it in after a crazy. freaking. week. (Hey, 2012. Stop being so freaking crazy. Maybe I want to exchange you for 2011) it was just what I needed. The mix includes tracks from Nicholas, 6th Borough Project (!!!), and Nicholas Jaar (swooooon) - sultry, slooooow burning disco. #winning

Put this on if you're stuck in traffic needing to breathe a little easier. Put this on if you're wanting to throw your computer out the window and/or go Office Space on it (full disclosure: me last week). Put this on if you're in the mood for a great mix. Put this on if you're wanting to uh, get in the mood (ifyouknowwhatimean). Basically, put this freaking mix on now. Because you just need it. It's totally Monday, and let's be real: Monday's suck. This mix does not.
